Our Story

Hi I am Monica! I am a planner, organizer and have a servant heart by nature. With 10 years of working as a Pediatric RN along with the birth of our second son, I realized there was a gap of education and services for new and expectant parents. I knew from my own personal and professional experiences that there was no “one size fits all approach for getting ready for a baby.

Brent and I are a unique husband-wife duo that love to work with families to help support and prepare them for the a-mazing adventures ahead of being a parent!

Monica Simmons
Co-Founder

Loves all things that encompass maternity, newborns and family.

Monica spent the last 10 years working as a registered nurse specializing in pediatric care. Monica adored the opportunities her nursing job provided when sitting face-to-face with parents and watching them gain the confidence they needed to better care for their little ones.

Because of her extensive pediatric knowledge and three pregnancies of her own, the last one being pregnant with twins, she understands how each pregnancy is unique.

As a maternity and bed rest concierge, helping parents is a natural fit for her. She loves creating and executing a streamlined plan for baby, designing nurseries and diffusing new parent jitters.

Monica thrives on taking the stress out of newborn preparations by making the process simplified, seamless, and stress-free.

On her personal time, she loves playing with her four young children, listening to music, volunteering with her husband with a local nonprofit and enjoying good food and coffee with great friends.

Brent Simmons
Co-Founder

Registered nurse and a father of four young children. His path to parenthood was assisted greatly by the knowledge he gained in nursing school, and he now desires to pass on the confidence and skills he has learned to new and expectant parents. He understands firsthand the questions and concerns of new parents, as well as the benefits of thoughtful, well-timed preparation to put their fears to rest.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Brent worked for several years as a behavioral health technician and a high school teacher. It was through this time that he realized his knack for connecting with people and the joy he experienced when helping them improve their lives. He took these skills and passions into his nursing career, and has been rewarded greatly with the smiles and thanks from satisfied patients and their loved ones.
Brent had just finished nursing school when his first son arrived, so he knew much more than the average father-to-be about pregnancy, labor, and infant care. Even so, he did not feel truly prepared for everything he encountered. He was surprised at the lack of meaningful support for dads who want to make themselves helpful throughout pregnancy, labor, and the early days of parenthood.

As a parent coach, he aspires to bridge the gap between the overwhelming quantity of information out there and the people who need it. He feels that education is crucial for dads to gain the confidence they need to participate in and actually enjoy those first few months of having a baby at home.

Brent is a lifelong learner with a wide variety of interests. His recent topics of obsession include backpacking, organic gardening, William Faulkner, and surviving in a house with two strong-willed pre-k boys and twin babies. He is now fully engaged in discovering and fulfilling his clients’ needs so they can relax and focus on the important things, like eating, sleeping, and being a critical support team member for their new baby.

Becky Bandeen
RN, BSN IBCLC

When my daughter was born, breastfeeding was a huge struggle for us. As we sought help and navigated through our struggles, I developed a passion to help other mothers reach their breastfeeding goals.

A few years later, I fulfilled my dream and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Though I had already been an RN for 10 years prior working in a level III NICU, I believe that it made me better as a person, professional and as a mother. All of my experiences have made me realize that I have a heart for preparing, educating, supporting and caring for new/expectant families along with NICU babies.

When I am not helping others or taking care of the little NICU babies, you can find me either at the park, camping or at the movies with my two girls, ages 5 and 2.
